 Akeela and the Bee on Friday night. We're also pleased to partner with WXMD Radio on their Summer Solstice Event featuring an R&B performance by Demetria McKinney.

Demetria McKinney has played roles on the big and small screens, as well as the stage. She is a gifted singer with a rich voice and a skillful songwriter. Widely known for her role as "Janine Payne" on the hit TBS sitcom, "Tyler Perry's House of Payne," and can currently be seen on ABC Family in a recurring "Devious Maids" role, and on TV One as a primary character on "The Rickey Smiley Show." She has also been a guest star on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" airing on the Bravo Television Network.

New Center Park is a unique green space in Detroit's Historic New Center located on the southwest corner of Second Avenue and West Grand Boulevard across from the Fisher Building. Midtown Detroit, Inc. produces the park's summer series. 
All events are FREE and open to the public, with the occasional ticketed event for residents, employees, and visitors of the neighborhood.
