Bridge to a Healthy Community - Next Steps

As you know, there is quite a lot of activity happening around the New International Trade Crossing (NITC) - the proposed new bridge to Canada. After the legislature failed to vote on a bill authorizing construction of the bridge, Governor Snyder signed an agreement with Canadian officials to build the bridge together without using any Michigan tax dollars to pay for its construction. Currently, public comments are being taken on the Presidential Permit for the U.S. to Canada NITC.

This proposed bridge will have a significant impact on our community. I am continuing the fight for a community benefits agreement that respects the health and quality of life of Detroit families.

I will keep you informed on everything that is happening with the bridge as this project moves forward. Please feel free to call my office with your concerns and questions about the bridge. You can reach me toll-free by calling (877) 852-4212.
