Subject: Tomorrow - The Mower Gang
A friendly reminder that the Mower Gang will be rocking at Riverside
Park tomorrow at 1PM. Besides the mowing, trimming, and cleanup,
there will be some mowing games. Ever mow blindfolded? Ever try
wake boarding on grass while you were towed behind a lawn tractor?
Tomorrow is the day.
There are no meetings in July or August – See you September 14th

Hello Corktowners:
Remember, tomorrow will be the State Primaries as well as the Corktown Residents' Council election.
In the last 18 months, attendance at the Residents' Council Meetings has increased almost 400 %. Whereas 10 -12 community members would attend monthly meetings in the past, we've been averaging over 50 / month for the last 12 months! I am especially pleased by the increased participation by people that had never been to a meeting before from all corners of the community.I can't think of a more engaged Detroit community. In terms of measurement of volunteer hours by Corktowners, the IRS would value the amount of volunteer work Corktowners do to keep their community clean, safe and community-oriented to exceed $300,000 and that doesn't even include the huge hours that members of the Corktown Historical Society contribute as well as all of the other individual / business efforts! No wonder our community is so stable.
Corktown Residents' Council Meeting
Fellow Corktowners:
The inaugural championship of the Detroit City Futbol League will conclude with the Copa Detroit where each of the DCFL’s 11 teams will compete for the ultimate glory.
The Copa will be a friendly picnic environment with taco trucks, grilled meat, live music and plenty of surprises to entertain everyone, including a special halftime performance by the Detroit Party Marching Band.
Corktowners,
Please see the note below. This is a follow-up to James' presentation at the last Residents' Council meeting. James also attended the mandatory meeting regarding the Request for Proposals so he can provide his observations to those in attendance.
Thanks,
Jeff
