Minutes of November 10, 2011 Corktown Citizen District Council meeting The meeting was called to order in the Gaelic League's Hall at 6:41 PM. Roll call of CDC Members and their vote to accept a brief agenda was then followed by Introduction of Guests who came to hear Jacob Kinde and Ben Newman of City of Detroit give some updates from Detroit WorksProject. CDC Members present were Dorothy Bennick, Ronald Cooley, Judith Christensen, Jennifer Wallisch and Mark Crowley, with more than 20 in attendance.

Corktown CDC members: In regard to a proposal to suspend our December 19 meeting, which was moved and seconded via e-mail, as of this evening I have received eight responses of "not able to attend".

As the Free Press reported,
the Woodward Light Rail project has been canceled.
"U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood told Detroit Mayor Dave Bing that doubts Detroit could pay operating costs over the long term for the Woodward Light Rail line because of it and the state's financial problems swayed him against the plan."
