Inside|Out has been in more than 100 communities over the past six years.

“Inside|Out has become a key component of the DIA’scommunity engagement efforts,” said Salvador Salort-Pons, DIA director. “We’re thrilled to share the program with nine new venues next year and expand our partnerships with metro Detroit communities thanks to continued support from the Knight Foundation.”

Highlights include an installation along the northern end of the Dequindre Cut to celebrate the expansion of the greenway past Gratiot Ave. and an installation at the Alger Theater, which plans to host programs in both East English Village and nearby Grosse Pointe.

The DIA encourages each community to plan activities centered around its Inside|Out works, and more events will be planned closer to installation dates. Previous activities have included bike and walking tours, bus tours, talks at local libraries, festivals and more.

More than 80 reproductions will be in nine communities from April to July, and then in nine other communities from August to October. Each community will have from seven to 12 images clustered within walking or bike-riding distance.
