Come Experience the Edible Best of Detroit

The Greening of Detroit, in partnership with edibleWow Magazine, is pleased to announce its 3rd Annual Live Love Local Celebration. This daylong event embraces living green, loving Detroit and local food. The gathering celebrates the innovative ways Detroit has progressed toward creating a greener, healthier and more sustainable city by bringing together a spectrum of enthusiasts including community partners, industry leaders, farmers, environmentalists and foodies from around the country.

LOVE FOOD
Twenty-Five of Metropolitan Detroit’s most delicious eateries including Dorsey, Cacao Tree, Calder Dairy, Colors, Henry Ford Village, The Grange, Mudgies, Rattlesnake Club, Roast, Slows Bar BQ, Supinos, Sweet Lorraines, The Lark, and Zingerman's just to name a few. Enjoy an assortment of wines from Sandhill  Crane Vineyards , an local beers and sodas.

The Greening, in partnership with edibleWOW magazine, is celebrating local food and the growing green movement in Detroit. This gathering highlights the innovative ways Detroit has progressed toward creating a greener, healthier and more sustainable city by bringing together a spectrum of enthusiasts including community partners, industry leaders, farmers, environmentalists and foodies from around the country.

 

Patrons will sample local food highlighted in original recipes from 25 of the area’s hottest chefs.  The day also includes hands-on environmental activities for kids, tours of the Eastern Market and The Greening’s Detroit Market Garden, “farm to fork” discussions, and demonstrations and exhibits showcasing a variety of The Greening’s local green initiatives.

 

Partner edibleWOW will present the 2013 Local Hero Award to five individuals who were selected for their special work in the food industry!
