Visit the Gooniverse and shop ceramic Goos, prints, jewelry, and more. What's a Goo? Goos are special beings that are helpful and generous. They get tired sometimes. When they're not visiting us, they live someplace else, in a lush paradise. A group of Goos is called a whish, and they speak in origami.

Craft Cocktail Workshop:
French 75s & Cookie Decorating 

Learn to prepare a classic brunch style cocktail, the French 75. Robyn will teach a few variations in addition to the classic recipe. Create three different cocktails with one recipe! And while we're sipping our drinks, Kellie will take everyone through cookie decorating 101. Learn how to use royal icing to create the perfect cookie canvas.

Collage Workshop:
Large Mixed Media Abstractions 
This 4 hour workshop will give you plenty of time to explore, create, and complete a comprehensive series of abstract collages to take home and enjoy. Shug will guide you, step by step, through this journey as we dig in and make A LOT of brand new abstract art. 

Ceramics Workshop:
Terracotta Planters
Say goodbye to those run-of-the-mill, assembly line planters and say hello to a world of creativity with clay! Local pottery whiz, Rachel Gervais, invites you to get your hands dirty with terracotta clay.

Sewing Machine Essentials Workshop:
Drawstring Bags
Learn your way around a sewing machine while you unleash your inner designer. Whether you need a project pouch for all those craft supplies, a travel bag to add to your luggage, or an upgrade for your sack lunch, why not make it all your own?

Mending Workshop:
Pockets!
Whether it's a designer dress, a vintage jacket, or some cute fast-fashion pjs, we all have items that would be so much better if only they had pockets. Join us for a day of major wardrobe upgrades while we learn how to add in-seam, apron, and patch pockets to our favorite garments. 

Marbling Workshop:
Paper + Fabric + Wood
We’ll show you how to properly dip paper, leather, wood, and fabric into the bath in order to perfectly transfer your trippy patterns. We'll also discuss uses for the results beyond the workshop. So many projects can be made with your marbled pieces!

Jewelry Workshop:
Enameled Copper
with Courtney Fischer

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to fire opaque enamel onto copper and assemble complete pieces using chain, jump rings, and earring hooks. All tools and materials are provided.

 Join us for a day of fun, fashion, and wardrobe refreshing! Do you have items hanging around in your closet that you never wear?? We all do. So let's clean house and swap the items that never get worn for new goodies that will bring joy! All unclaimed items at the end of the swap will be donated to local charities.

Reverse Appliqué Embroidery
Forget about those logos, stains, or anything that you want to remove from a garment! We'll replace that pesky bit with a peek of another fabric, surrounded by expertly crafted stitches.

Melissa West is a talented artist based in Dearborn, holding a BFA in painting. After graduating, she unearthed a deep passion for creating 3D objects. Over the past six years, she has explored the versatility of concrete, crafting one-of-a-kind planters and home decor pieces. Combining her love for plants with her creative spirit, Melissa is excited to bring a whimsical fairy garden workshop to POST this August.

Screen Printing Workshop:
Pet Portraits
Your pet deserves 15 minutes of fame! And a custom-made portrait!
Learn the basics of screen printing and create a hand illustrated portrait of your favorite furry friend. We'll be using an accessible, non-darkroom method that can easily be replicated at home. 

Jewelry Workshop:
Marbled Effects in Polymer Clay
Local artist Trice Clark will guide you through the process of designing jewelry from scratch with a special focus on marbled clay!

Fibers Workshop:
Pom Pom Garland
This popular class is taught by Julie, from Fate & Coincidence! Create colorful & festive decor, while learning the art of pom pom making. Each student will be provided with all the supplies to work on their unique project. We will work with cotton, acrylic, and wool yarns.

Sewing Workshop:
Crossbody Bags
Slings, Fanny Packs, Bum Bags, Belt Bags, whatever you call them, these crossbody carry-alls are always in fashion for good reason! Endlessly versatile and adjustable, these bags can be worn so many ways and made in so many fabrics. We have perfected a super pattern that is easy to learn and features a lined interior, secure zipper closure, inner pocket, and an adjustable strap.

Ceramics Workshop:
Hanging Bird Bath
Add some whimsy to your garden while giving the birds and bees the most adorable bath in the neighborhood! Join Barb Gervais to create a ceramic hanging bird bath, customized with artful textures, colorful glazes, and tiny hand-painted birds, bees, and other critters. 

Embroidery Workshop:
Schoolhouse Lettering Sampler
Join us for a 3-hour embroidery extravaganza while we work on this amazing sampler together. Students will learn a variety of techniques including french knots, back, satin, and running stitches. All materials and supplies are provided while you learn with Angela Zachary.

Pull a print and learn more about CopyCat, a community print studio founded by Angie Coe and Melissa Dettloff, who met at Ocelot Print Shop. 
CopyCat will be a printmaking studio that supports a growing and inclusive printmaking community in Detroit by offering affordable access to professional printmaking equipment, classes, and studio space for anyone to learn and practice printmaking.

Ceramics Drop In Workshop:
Dog Day Paw Print Tiles
It's no secret—we love our dogs here at POST! Now you can join us by making a lasting impression of your pup's paw. Get ready for cuteness overload. The ceramic tiles will be finished and bisque fired. We’ll then paint the prints in a color of your choice with the name of your pet, before glazing and second firing.

Two Day Upholstery Workshop:
Dining Chair Seat Cushions
This beginner-friendly introduction to upholstery promises to transform you from an upcycling dreamer into a confident furniture DIYer! 

Hapa Zome Workshop:
Eco Printing on Fabric
In this hands-on rendezvous with nature, we'll experiment with accessible natural dye techniques that can be used to create colorfast, eco-chic clothing and artwork at home. 

Ceramics Workshop:
Glazing Bud Vases
Learn all about porcelain decorating techniques as you make a unique bud vase of your own! In this 3 hour workshop, you will get to choose your vase from a selection of pre-thrown greenware—each designed and hand thrown by Rachel Gervais.

Mending Workshop:
Sashiko + Boro for Denim Repair
This workshop will introduce you to how to use these visible mending techniques on denim. Gather your favorite ripped, worn, and snagged denim jackets, jeans, and chambray shirts!

Textile Screen Printing Workshop:
Tea Towels with Scarlet Crane
During this make & take workshop, Shayla will teach you about multi-color placement printing, designing and printing repeat patterns, and special techniques for screen printing on fabric. Everyone will print fun, contemporary patterns onto 100% cotton tea towels. Shayla will guide you through designing, laying out patterns, and mixing colorful inks to use on your tea towels.

Macrame Workshop:
Textile & Wood Hanging Shelf
Colorful cotton rope + reclaimed wood = instant charm! Learn various macrame techniques to create a functional and very beautiful craft. Using various knots and twists, students will turn a wooden board into a decorative hanging shelf.

Weaving Workshop:
Framed Tapestry Weaving
No experience needed, just a positive attitude and an excitement for yarn and design. This fun and colorful workshop includes all materials and tools needed for project.

Come hang out with your POST pals for some fibers and textile crafting. Bring your knitting, crochet, needlework, sewing, or other fibers project along with any tools and supplies needed. This is a free, fun, loosely organized, crafting party with a talented crowd of pros and beginners alike. Need some help with your project? Chances are someone here can offer guidance, inspiration, or at the very least will commiserate with your frustrations.

We welcome performances and projects of all kinds; music, poetry, theatre, puppetry, visual arts, powerpoint presentations...
