The Detroit Kite Festival 2019
Since 2017, the Detroit Kite Festival hosted ten kite-making workshops, twenty kite-flying pop-ups, worked with fifteen local organizations, raised over $25,000, and put on two amazing kite festivals with twenty partners and sponsors.
The first and second Detroit Kite Festivals brought together over 5,000 people to uplift community, inspire creativity, encourage play, and celebrate history.
The Detroit Kite Festival will take place July 14th, 2019 from 10am- 5pm on Belle Isle. It's completely free, and no tickets are necessary.
It will feature on-site kite making by the Detroit Institute of Arts, and kite-related activities, professional kite flyers, with participation from local businesses and organizations.

The Festival will take places at the Belle Isle Cricket Field, right next to the Belle Isle Casino.
