We are seeking volunteers to assist with set-up, registration, general event execution, youth activity zone, VIP, and break down. All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Event Information In partnership with The City of Detroit, Detroit Branch NAACP, Juneteenth Jubilee, Charles H Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit Means Business and the Eastern Market Development Corporation, we are excited to announce our Juneteenth Freedom Fest on Sunday June 19, 2022 which commemorates the day of liberation for African Americans in our country. This event will celebrate the rich history and cultural heritage in our region and provide an opportunity to support Black businesses through financial support and participation in our “Black Bottom Row.” Our day’s activities and programming will focus on all aspects of the African American experience for children and adults, with food, art, culture and history. We will also provide a wide range of entertainment from our main stage including local artists, spoken word and historical presentations. We will end the day with internationally acclaimed and Detroit’s own Slum Village, as a headliner. The Juneteenth Freedom Fest will be marketed to well over 50,000 Metro Detroiters and expose more than 500 small, minority owned businesses to the opportunity for exposure during the event.
