Deeply Rooted Produce wins at SOUP
Congratulations to Dazmonique of Deeply Rooted Produce Mobile Grocery Store for winning at Sunday’s Citywide SOUP!

Deeply Rooted Produce Mobile Grocery Store will be a step up van (similar to FedEx or Aramark) that provides fresh and locally grown fruits and vegetables, nutrition education classes, and health screenings & consultations. They serve the Detroit community members found to have inadequate access to fresh and locally grown groceries near their physical location. Learn more atdeeplyrootedproduce.com

Neighbor Spotlight: Alexis Adams-Wynn

Alexis Adams-Wynn, the leader of East Jefferson SOUP, was selected as one of 20 fellows from around the country to represent Detroit in the 8 80 Cities and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s 2018 Emerging City Champions Program!

Alexis’s project focuses on the ways in which comedy can serve as a form of healing, civic engagement, and storytelling in neighborhoods. She will be developing comedy writing, improv, and trauma-informed care workshops that will culminate in a community-led comedy show at The Alger in Spring 2019.

Check out the full press release and project description.
