Touch-A-Truck will take place at West Riverfront Park, located at 1801 W. Jefferson, Detroit MI from 10 AM - 3 PM onSaturday, May 12th.
 
Now in its 4th year, this FREE family-friendly event provides children with the opportunity to explore large vehicles of all types including construction, public safety, transportation, and just plain cool vehicles. Children will be allowed to get behind the wheel of these vehicles and meet the people who help to build, protect, beautify and serve our community.
 
This year promises to be our biggest year yet with more than 40 vehicles scheduled to attend. Vehicles scheduled to be featured include: public safety patrol cruisers, construction equipment, emergency service vehicles, snow plows, tow trucks, semi-trucks, luxury and commuter busses, a street sweeper, a TV news van, a U.S. Coast Guard boat and more. 
 
A sensory-friendly hour will be hosted from 10 AM - 11 AM for children with sensitivities to light and sound, and we will be asking our partners to refrain from truck honking and sirens.
 
This event is FREE, but we ask visitors to pre-register by clicking here.
 
Free parking will also be provided for Detroit Touch-A-Truck at a lot located just east of West Riverfront Park. Details will be provided via an email to all registered participants.

West Riverfront Park will feature some heavy-duty metal on Saturday, May 12th as the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy hosts the 4th annual Touch-a-Truck!

Touch-a-Truck is a FREE hands-on family event that will provide children with the opportunity to explore large vehicles of all types, including those used by professionals in construction, public safety, transportation, landscaping and other industries.

Children will be allowed to get behind the wheel of these vehicles and meet the people who help to build, protect, beautify and serve our community. Crafts, and games will also be part of the day’s entertainment.

Touch-A-Truck will take place at our brand new West Riverfront Park, located just west of Joe Louis Arena at 1801 W. Jefferson. The new West RiverWalk, located between 8th street and Rosa Parks along Jefferson and the Detroit River’s edge, features 20 plus acres of lush greenspace, a 30-foot extra wide path, benches, security call boxes and our iconic marine railing. This location is ideal for large events or recreation activities such as fishing and biking.
