I am pleased to report to you that our New Center/Piety Hill Radio Patrol is just about official! We have all of our paperwork in to become official through the State of Michigan and Detroit Police Department, a logo (created by one of our members), an email address (This email address is being protected from spambots. Our patrol boundaries are Clairmount to the north, Grand Boulevard to the south, Woodward to east, and Lodge to the west. We will be going through alleys, parking lots, streets, carefully observing. We will be going through alleys, parking lots, streets, carefully observing.
We did a test-run patrol a few weeks ago with 3 cars out and a member at base. Radio Patrol is a great way to build community, get to know our neighbors, invest in our safety, and become very familiar with our area.
We expect to start patrolling in mid-March and will be continuing to accept and train members. We will have monthly meetings.
