The only chance to bike the Ambassador Bridge is here! Ride across the Bridge and back to Detroit for a ride 12 miles through the city (total ride distance 16 miles).

Bike The Bridge is back for 2017! This is it -- your only chance to ride across the border! 

Riders will gather in Clark Park in Detroit at 7 a.m. At 8 a.m. sharp, the group will head to the Ambassador Bridge, ride across and back, then embark on a 9-mile ride through Detroit. 

After the ride, boxed lunch is included in the cost of registration. A meat, vegetarian and vegan/gluten-free option is available at registration.

Ride starts and ends at Clark Park in Detroit and is sweeper-supported. T-shirt included in cost of registration.

Advance registration is mandatory due to customs regulations. Enhanced drivers license, NEXUS or passport is required. Ride limited to 750 registrants.

The mission of the Tour de Troit is to promote and encourage bicycling and bicycle safety through education, public events, collaboration with community and government organizations and support for non-motorized infrastructure. The Tour de Troit, the city’s largest cycling event, raises awareness of biking as a mode of transportation and publicizes the growing greenways network in the City of Detroit and all of Southeastern Michigan. Tour de Troit also produces and supports other events that promote a healthy lifestyle and city, including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bike Ride, Rouge-A-thlon, PaczKi Run and Cycle Into Spring.

 

Course Description 

Start at Clark Park, and ride to the base of the Bridge for a ride across to Canada and back to the USA. This year's event we will be timing your climb to the top of the bridge! After returning to the USA, we will continue on a 9.5 mile ride through the city before returning to Clark Park for lunch.

Miscellaneous Info 

BAG RESTRICTIONS: Bags are strictly regulated on the bridge. Only fanny packs and frame bags under 7L in size are allowed. No other bags are allowed, including baskets of any kind. Bags not approved include trunk bags, saddle bags(commonly referred to as a seat bag), bags with shoulder straps (including backpacks and hydration packs), panniers or bags that hang on the side of your bike, or covered baskets. If you bring a bag on the bridge it will be confiscated by Customs Police. Tour de Troit will not be responsible for any confiscated property. If you are unsure if your bag meets the criteria, do not bring it! These instructions are per the Bridge Company, the Port of Detroit and Customs, and are a stricter version of our requirements at the TDT.
