Block Clubs

As of now, District Six has increased its block clubs and block club captains by twenty percent, and participation is continuing to grow. Those interested in learning more about block clubs, such as how to start a block club or on becoming a block captain can stop by our office hours Mondays and Thursdays from 10 AM-12 PM. Additionally, for a limited time, newly registered block clubs and block club leaders are eligible to receive a free energy efficiency kit. Block Club Workshops will be starting back up again next month, with two being held in the month of June. Check out our Facebook page for the latest information on workshop dates.

The next Block Club Leadership meeting for block club leaders in District Six will be in July. Registration is required to attend.

May Board Ups

District Six's board up team will be doing a board up this Saturday, May 13 at 10 AMstarting at 6100 Hartford, 48208. The board up team will be split into two groups with one group boarding up six houses around the 48210 area.

Motor City Makeover 2017

Those still interested in participating in Motor City Makeover either as an individual or a group can still register at motorcitymakeover.org.

Volunteer Spotlight


 Beatrice Rodriguez is a native Detroiter, having been born and raised in the city. She has worked with the District Six Department of Neighborhoods in clean ups and board ups, including participating in Motor City Makeover. She additionally helps feed the less fortunate at NSO two to three times a month. She sits on the Board of Commissioners at Chadsey Condon while also participating as a Hope Citizens Patroller, helping make our communities sa
