Neighborhoods in America's Legacy Cities: A Dialogue in Detroit
 
Preservation Detroit is proud to sponsor the 2016 Neighborhoods in America's Legacy Cities conference. Join a diverse and experienced network of professionals, academics, advocates and community members to discuss preservation and neighborhood transformation Sept. 13-16 at Wayne State University.

2016 AASLH/MMA Annual Meeting: Spirit of Rebirth
 
The American Association of State and Local History, in partnership with the Michigan Museums Association, meets in Detroit Sept. 14-17 at Cobo Hall. The conference will explore the role of public history in times and places of transition.

12th Annual Midwest Historical Archaeology Conference:
Archaeology & the Power / Danger of Neighborhoods

MHAC is a small but lively regional conference that will attract participants from academia, non-profits, museums, and government agencies working across the Midwest. This year's conference will explore the physical spaces of neighborhoods, past and present, as well as current community archaeology initiatives. The conference will be held Sept. 23-24 at the UM Detroit Center and Wayne State University. 
 
This conference is free, but those attending must register. Online registration ends onFriday, Sept. 9. On-site registration will be available Sept. 23 and 24. More info and register here
