A HUGE SHOUT-OUT & THANK YOU to RASHIDA for always keeping the People of Southwest Detroit, informed, updated, alerted, aware of key opportunities to attend important public hearings or email our concerns, sign a petition, etc.,...  When these various types of important concerns, issues & decisions will be decided upon by our City Administration, &/or City Departments, &/ our City Council, etc.,...and will impact our quality of life in SWD then it is crucial that the People of Southwest Detroit voices are heard.  We, the People of Southwest Detroit need to be able to weigh-in and guide our future so we can live in a continually improved community!

Proof we are stronger together community. We deserve a healthy and vibrant Detroit.

COKE YARD MUST BE ENCLOSED!

We salute the work of the board of zoning appeals, the executive director of the city health department and officials and staff in the building and safety engineering department who put public health before profit and declined to give in to the pressures being placed on them to permit the open-air storage of all manner of coke products on the riverfront with little meaningful regulation. This is a one step forward towards a more sustainable city.

THE PEOPLE'S COMMUNITY BENEFITS ORDINANCE MOVES TO ELECTION COMMISSION!

We are one step closer to the ballot. This would not have happened without the great work of the Committee for Community Benefits and the dozens of community groups whose effort this is!
