New festival planned for Detroit's Corktown neighborhood

'Corktown Strut' scheduled for July 1-3

 
A new summer festival is planned for Detroit's Corktown neighborhood.

The Corktown Strut is scheduled for July 1-3 and aims to put the spotlight on homegrown music, arts and food.

Events are planned for at least 16 venues, with area restaurants showcasing specialty offerings. The festival is being produced by the nonprofit Forward Arts.
