STARTING FRIDAY, JULY 3Due to our love of classic movies, we have a soft spot in our hearts for Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. But so did the audience AND the jury at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Winner of both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award, it's the uniquely funny, moving story of high school senior Greg (Thomas Mann), who avoids relationships as a survival strategy. He even describes his constant companion Earl (RJ Cyler), with whom he makes short classic movie parodies, as a "co-worker" instead of "best friend." But when Greg's mom (Connie Britton) insists he spend time with Rachel (Olivia Cooke) - a girl in his class who has just been diagnosed with cancer - Greg slowly discovers how worthwhile the true bonds of friendship can be. Also starring Nick Offermam as Greg's dad and Molly Shannon as Rachel's mom. Check out the showtimes below or on our ticketing page. ALSO STARTING FRIDAY, JULY 3Jackie and Ryan follows a modern day trainhopper (Ben Barnes) fighting to become a successful musician, and a single mom (Katherine Heigl) battling to maintain custody of her daughter. The struggling and unlikely pair defy their circumstances by coming together in a relationship that may change each others' lives forever. "Mellow, digestibly sweet and embellished with lovely folk tunes, this modest bit of Americana reveals pleasing new sides of both leads ..." - Variety. See showtimes below. LAST CHANCES - Wednesday 7/1 and Thursday 7/2The 2015 SUNDANCE SHORTS TOUR is held over for a limited set of screenings listed below. Don't miss the very best of the thousands of short films submitted to this year's festival.
If you liked CD fave The Babadook, we recommend you take a chance on the mysterious, acclaimed thriller THE MIDNIGHT SWIM. Three sisters search for their missing mother in a bottomless lake and creepiness ensues. Official selection at both the AFI and Fantasia Film Festivals. HELD OVERFRESH DRESSED, a history of the 1980s hip hop fashion explosion, is loaded with sweet beats and interviews with the likes of Nas, Pharell, Kanye, A$AP Rocky, Swizz Beatz, Big Daddy Kane, and André Leon Talley. Check out the showtimes below. As always, tickets are available online at our ticketing page or at the box office during regular business hours (doors open one half-hour before showtime).
