Dear Advocates,

Please attend!

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has opened its public comment period regarding Marathon Petroleum’s Permit to Install the modification to its Detroit Heavy Oil Upgrade Project and Consent Order regarding emissions violations. The proposed modifications include increased production limits and potential increases in emissions.

I urge you to voice your concerns about the increase in emissions.   The only way to help stop these types of actions by a polluting industry is to continue fighting for accountability and showing the strong opposition.  There are too many permits and emissions in our community!

The public hearing will take place on

Wednesday, January 8

7:00 p.m.

Delray Neighborhood House

420 Leigh St. Detroit 48209

Please know that comments may be submitted in writing to Ms. Mary Ann Dolehanty, Permit Section Supervisor, MDEQ Air Quality Division, PO Box 30260 Lansing, MI 48909 until January 8.
