Update on crime that I am aware of in the last two weeks.
I have divided the recent neighborhood incidents listed on http://www.CrimeMapping.com into four categories: Crimes against people, Crimes against property, Crimes with phones, and Drugs / Alcohol.
In each category, the incidents are sorted by date with most recent first.

The crimes against people continue being in the vicinity of the gas stations and convenience stores. We are working on some strategies now. As always, I welcome suggestions.

What is being done
Wayne State Police continue giving our area special attention. We have two cars assigned to us and daily walking patrols. I heard that they felt that they felt warmly received by the neighborhood. Thanks to all who have welcomed them.
If you share any suggestions with me, I will pass them along to the Wayne Police Department.

Comcast Outages
Several neighbors reported outages of Comcast service on the following blocks earlier in the week. If you know of additional blocks with outages, please let me know.
Commonwealth:
4100 block
4300 block
4400 block
4500 block
4800 block
Avery
4700 block
Trumbull
4700 block
Suggestions for dealing with this problem are welcome. One neighbor says that Comcast will cut the bill for outages. Other neighbors suggest switching to AT&T.
What do you think should be done, if anything? Does anyone want to take the lead on this issue?

Calumet Clean Up
Efforts are being made to beautify the neighborhood by cutting low hanging branches on some blocks, especially for Calumet between Trumbull and Lincoln. Most of this organizing effort has been made on the neighborhood Facebook page. If you are interested, let me know.
