Free tax, year-round tax preparation assistance is available for households earning less than $60,000 a year.

Accounting Aid Society’s team of tax professionals and volunteers is dedicated to giving southeast Michigan households the confidence of an accurately prepared tax return, and the peace of mind that comes with having a team by your side for year-round support.

Choose the tax preparation option that works best for you:

In Person

In person tax preparation is available at several locations in southeast Michigan. Bring your tax documents and our tax preparers will prepare your taxes on the same day.

Appointments are preferred; walk-in services are available on a first come first serve basis and may not be available.

Drop-and-Go

With Drop-and-Go, you’ll be able to bring your documents to a Drop-and-Go site, answer a few questions and go about your day. After it’s been prepared, you’ll receive a call to return to the site to review and sign your return.

Appointments are required.

VITA ACE

With VITA ACE, our tax preparers will work with you over the phone to maximize your refund without having to leave your home. An email address, smartphone that has internet access or data plan, and tax documents are all you need to get started.

Appointments are required.

Do It Yourself

Brought to you by United Way Worldwide, MyFreeTaxes (available in late January 2023) screens for credit and deduction eligibility such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit to ensure you receive your maximum refund, and lets filers check for any missed stimulus payments.
