Tour de Troit

Registration Open for Virtual PaczKi Run

Due to COVID-19, the 2021 PaczKi Run is virtual this year.  Registration is now open. Runners can tackle the distance anytime between Feb. 6-13 in a limited edition PaczKi Run t-shirt, listen to a Tour de Troit polka playlist and then reward themselves with a paczek from one of Hamtramck's famous bakeries. We plan to be together on Joseph Campau once again in 2022.

Virtual Tour d' Eastside Ride June 1-30

Like the Paczki Run, Tour de Troit is taking precautions for your safety and making the Tour d' Eastside event virtual this Spring.  We'll load you up with some Eastside routes of varying lengths and a Tour d'Eastside t-shirt so you can do the ride safely anytime between June 1-30.

Sept. 18 Tour de Troit is On The Calendar

We plan to return to a 20-mile group ride departing from Roosevelt Park on Sept. 18 to celebrate Tour de Troit’s 20th anniversary. It may be a bit smaller but we look forward to gathering with friends once again to celebrate the spirit of cycling throughout Detroit's favorite neighborhoods. Prices rise on March 1 so sign up today!

No MLK Ride This January

Tour De Troit will not be hosting its annual Martin Luther King Jr. ride this January due to the COVID spike.  We encourage all cyclists to enjoy a quiet pedal on their own and remember the 1963 speech in Detroit from the civil rights leader.  If you'd like to listen to it, local radio station WDET annually plays it.

If you'd like to go for a small, socially distant winter ride that weekend, the ninth annual Bike the Blizzard is set for Jan.16-17. It is a fundraiser for Back Alley Bikes that helps Detroit's youth receive bikes and learn how to maintain them.

Help me help Back Alley Bikes to continue to be a valuable resource for Detroit's cycling community with this important annual fundraiser! For over 20 years, Back Alley Bikes' mission has been to provide cycling education and services with a focus on youth development, sustainable practices, and community access.

During this unprecidented year of virtual connections, Back Alley Bikes has managed to stay focused on their mission by getting free used bikes to as many Detroit youth as they've been able to find, thanks to creative partnerships throughout the city. So far this year, they've been able to give over 200 bikes to kids, and have dozens more in the works for the holidays!

They've also managed to keep the doors open during the pandemic to continue to provide a safe environment with resources for Detroit's broad cycling community, like DIY Open Shop time with available used parts and educational classes. They have remained open for Volunteer time, which is the backbone of getting bikes ready to distribute to Detroit's youth! Back Alley Bikes has also been able to give dozens of bikes and locks to housing insecure and other vulnerable community members with their Spokes for Folks partnership program.

Help me with a donation to help Back Alley Bikes, and thank you!
