Back Alley Bikes begins 2020 with the 8th annual Bike the Blizzard, the largest fundraiser of the year. This event, as in the past, is a 24 hour endeavor from 11am Saturday, January 18th to 11am Sunday, January 19th. Riders, registered as individuals or teams, will fundraise as much as they can either as a certain amount per-mile, or as one-time donations from their donors. Minimum fundraising totals for individuals $50. or teams $100.
The ride is based out of the Cass Corridor Neighborhood Development Corp (CCNDC) Community Center adjacent to Back Alley Bikes and the Hub (bike shop). Here riders will find same-day registration and check in, a bike repair area, food and warming area.
Riders will also have access to on-call support vehicles and fun organized group rides throughout the day and night, as well as warming stations throughout the city, thanks to community partnerships.
This event isn’t only for riders, everyone is encouraged to help with fundraising efforts. Thank you!
These funds help Back Alley to keep the doors open throughout the winter and continue offering educational programs and community support.
